This is one of my favorite recipes for Angel Food Cake. Simple, light, and it comes out just right every time. Plus, any excuse I have to use these pretty plates I bought here, is reason enough to make some extra culinary effort from time to time ;)
12 egg whites
1 tsp. cream of tarter
1 1/4 cup of superfine sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
Preheat the oven to 375
Mix the egg whites and cream of tartar in a bowl until soft peaks form
Add 3/4 cup of sugar, beat
Add vanilla extract and continue to beat
Sift the flour and remaining sugar and sift into the egg mixture
Fold the flour into the sugar
Add to Angel Food tin
Bake for 30 minutes
Turn upside down and let cool
Sounds delicious! NOM NOM NOM.
